compostion test 1

Whenever Tom remembers the experience he had with a lion, his mind would go blank and it would send chills down his spine. He could vividly remember the accident that had happened a few years ago……

It was a Sunday morning. In a distance, the sky grew brighter as the sun crept over the horizon lazily. It was Ton’s birthday. As the rays of the sun filtered through the window panes, Tom jumped out of his bed quickly. His parents were bringing him to the zoo that day to celebrate his birthday. He rushed down to meet his parents and to get ready to leave after his breakfast. His family got into the car. Tom was grinning from ear to ear. He loved animals and could not wait to get there.

When his family reached the zoo, his parents went the ticketing booth to buy the tickets. As Tom waited impatiently for his parents to buy the tickets, he picked up a map of the zoo and started to plan where he wanted to go. He studied the map and finally chose to visit the lions enclosure. His favorite animal was the lion and he could not wait to see it.

After his parents paid for the tickets, he told them his plans to see the lions first and they immediately agreed to go along with his plans.

As they walked towards the lion enclosure, Tom was jumping around, happy with his visit to the lions enclosure. He almost got knocked over by one of the trams. When they finally reached the lions enclosure, Tom ran towards the railing of the enclosure to get a better look at the lions. Tom stood staring at the magnificent beast walking around the enclosure. The lion had a mane. It was a male. It had golden fur and sharp teeth. Tom decided to sit on the railing to watch the lions. His mother tried to stop him but it was too late. There were many people around and as one man tried to walk away, his hand accidentally hit Tom who fell into the lion enclosure. Tom stood petrified at the sight of the lion going closer to him but as he tried to climb out of the enclosure, he slipped on a rock and cut his leg. Blood oozed out of hi leg and it hurt like he was on fire. Beads of perspiration formed on his forehead and they glistened in the fluorescent light from the sun. His mother was screaming for someone to help Tom but no one came.

Suddenly, two zookeepers rushed to the scene and tried to rescue him. One of the zookeepers used a chicken to try to lure the lion away from Tom while the other used a tranquiliser gun to shoot a dart at the lion to make it fall asleep.

After about five minutes, the zookeeper holding the gun finally got a clear shot of the dart gun finally got a clear shot of the lion. He shot at the buttock of the lion and it immediately collapsed on the ground. The zookeepers quickly got Tom out of the enclosure and attended to his wounds. His mother and father rushed to him with worried looks. Tom assured them that he was okay.
In his mind, he was not okay as that was the most frightening experience of his life which he would never forget.

Koalas:
When a baby koala is born, it is only the size of a jelly bean! The baby is called a joey and it is blind, naked and earless. Once the baby is born, it will make its way to it’s mother’s pouch. The koala has a thick fur which protects them from both the heat and the cold. Koalas are lazy animals which spend as many as 18 hours a day napping and resting. When a newborn koala latches onto a nipple of its mothers pouch, the nipple swells so much in the joey’s mouth that it cannot be separated from their mother which is their food source.

Nile Crocodiles:
Crocodiles are cold-blooded like all other reptiles. Even though they are cold-blooded, crocodiles like to keep their body temperature
constant. To control their temperature, crocodiles bask in the sun during the day, cool off during midday by having a dip or a rest in the shade and spend the night mostly submerged under water. Crocodiles have webbed feet for swimming but they seldom use them. Nile crocodiles live around the
lakes, marshes and rivers of Southern Africa. They eat stones to help them to digest their food.

Adelie Penguins:
Adelie penguins can live up to 20 years. A group of penguins is called a colony and in a colony, there can be up to as many as 100 to 250,000 pairs of birds. They build nests by scooping areas out of the ground. They then line the depression with stones. The stones help to keep the eggs dry and warm by keeping them off the ground.

Bald Eagles:
Bald Eagles builds their nests on top of tall trees to keep the eggs safe. The parents will come back year after year to the nest and they will add twigs, sticks and grass each time. It can fly up to 10,000 feet high and they have a awesome eyesight which lets them see a fish from a mile away. When they have spotted their prey, they will drop down to about 100 miles per hour and glide above the water and use their feet to catch the prey. They can live up to 35 years or more.

Bottle Nose Dolphin:
Dolphins look like fishes but they are actually mammals and breathe through lungs just like us. This species of dolphins are called Bottle Nose dolphins as their noses are shaped like bottles. Bottle nose dolphins can be found in temperate and tropical waters. Having little smell or non at all, they depend on their sharp sense of hearing to make up. They usually hunt in groups, once in awhile, they will hunt alone. The diet of a dolphin is mostly fish but they also eat shrimps. They will swallow their food whole.

I 1996,i was born at Gleneagles hospital. When i was about 18 months old,I attended nursery at a place called Kindercorner at science park 1 as my father worked ther and it would be much easier for him to fetch my brothers and I.

I stayed there until i graduated from there to go to primary 1.In 2003 ,i went to Henry Park as a primary 1 and the only person who followed me to Henry Park was Lindsy Saw.Trough luck,we were both in the same class,1J.I was very exited to start school and make new friends so i did not cry.I can vividly remeber a boy called Tze Meng who was in my class in primary 1.He cried everyday for the first few weeks of school becuse he did not want to leave his mother. The teacher and his mother had to drag him into class. He was known as the cry baby of my class.During september,i was invited to join the gymnastics school team.

In 2005,i went for my first gym compettion but we did not win.We tried harder the next year and won 4th place. We were overjoyed. In 2006,i got my first high distinction for new south wales exam for English .My score was 38 out of 40.My class also won the chinese new year decorations that year.In 2007,i got another high distinction for new south wales compettion and this time it was for science.I got a new best friend that year and her name was Evelyn.A new girl transferred from concorde primary in september and we became good friends. Her name is Elaine.

2007 was an exiting year as there were many fun activities. There was the p5 camp and the NE show which i enjoyed very much.I hated mt teacher that year and because of that,my math and science grades went down.I hope to do well this year so that i can go to a good secondary school.
